HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY FROM THIS MOMMY AND DADDY-TO-BE AND THE ENTIRE SG TEAM!

Slight interruption on the SG Blog today to announce that Jigar and I are HAVING A BABY :-)  Yes, I’m still getting used to the idea that I’m going to be someone’s mom :-)  We got the good news on March 5th, told our immediate family a couple of days later, our really close friends within the first couple of months and we’ve been ready to tell the rest of the world for days……First of, Happy Mother’s Day to our amazing mom’s and all the other mom’s and mommies-to-be that are a part of our everyday personal and professional lives!

When we started SG 4 years ago, Jigar and I had been married exactly a year.  It was then, when I lost my first real job out of college and decided to take on a challenge, which at the time seemed completely impossible and is now one of our most amazing accomplishments.  We got married (sort of) young, so we never really questioned if we were ready to have kids immediately.  In fact, everyone told us “don’t rush”.  So we didn’t!  We talked about our careers often (especially the new business) and how work taking over our lives, was the only option for the next few years, but we were happy with that.

As SG grew, we expanded.  We hired more employees, opened a new office and took on more events.  We started with one event a weekend and grew to 2 and 3 as our team and inventory expanded.   It was our 3rd year in the business, when we realized how difficult it was to intentionally slow down something we had worked so tirelessly for, in order to start a family.  We needed a bit more time…

Fast forward another year….And, the time has come where we’ve been blessed to not have to make that choice.  We can have both.  We’ve spent the last 4 years, molding our business to where I can finally work from home.  We’ve compromised a lot of family time, friends and even time away from each other to find success, but it’s all been worth it because we can now have it all back.

I’ve spent the last 4-5 months working mostly from home, due to the most amazing team this industry has to offer.  I could go on and on about our unbelievable staff, who are perfectionists and can execute and deliver each event with such consistency.  We’ve reached this milestone, because of them.  I’m sure many of you will ask, if I’ll continue to work…and the simple answer is YES.  We have no doubt that SG will continue to grow, as we can simultaneously start the next chapter of our lives with our first child :-)  We couldn’t have been blessed at more righteous time.

Dimple & Ashwin Sangeet (Part II)

Unfortunately, I couldn’t get all the details captured of D&A’s events, so we’re skipping through the Mehndi and I present to you D&A’s extraordinary Retro Disco inspired Sangeet…

Most brides opt for vibrant Pinks, Oranges & Purples for Sangeet Decor.  But, we wanted to be a little adventurous and “out of the box” for D&A’s Sangeet.  With a lot of details, glitz and glam, we put together a design inspired by hanging Disco Balls, regal drapery and LED lighting. We draped the room partially with regal satin curtains, and partitioned the drape with glamorous fabric panels behind the DJ.  Centerpieces were composed of tall LED lit vases with White Ostrich Feathers.  Enjoy…

Dimple & Ashwin Engagement Ceremony (Part I)

This unbelievable 4 day (7 event) wedding of Dimple and Ashwin took place at the magnificent Boca Raton Hotel & Resort (a Waldorf Astoria Resort), in Boca Raton, FL. Guests flew in from all over the world to witness D&A’s exquisite wedding events which were all over the top in so many ways. The celebrations kicked off with a beautiful Engagement Ceremony. The rain forecast for the day, forced us to move indoors however, the couple and the ceremony were just as beautiful.

The decor was inspired by an English garden with a ceremonial arch custom designed behind the bride and groom. It was the most beautiful, simple & elegant fairy tale backdrop – a perfect backdrop for the nude custom designed, fusion bridal lengha Dimple wore. The arch was draped with natural willow crawling up 8ft stanchions with shades of lush pinks, whites and lavender florals overflowing over the willow. The willow was embellished with pearl necklaces and a glass chandelier suspended from the center of the arch.

The evening continued at the world famous Lucca Restaurant, where the couple hosted a casual and fun welcome dinner on the terrace. We embraced the beautiful El Patio Terrace of the hotel, and enhanced the large oak tree with hanging lanterns, chandeliers and paper lanterns. The beautiful setting of hanging ornaments overlooked the lake of Boca Raton.

The talented Gaciel Santana Photography was behind the camera and she took so many creative shots of our design. Stay here to witness some of the most beautiful details she captured.
